“As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.”

Millions of Christians in China live in rural areas.  Many are employed in common labor, working on farms, factories or other types of work.  Christian families not only need to provide for themselves, but often care for their elderly parents, who either live with them or in other towns or provinces. When a tragedy strikes these families, they are often put under immediate financial stress. Chinese society does not provide a safety net to help out in these needs. The local church too often lacks organizational strength or resources to assist in these adversities.  Hudson Taylor Ministries has done much in the last years to provide assistance to church families that experience a real crisis.  We have helped in critical needs such as urgent medical treatments and rebuilding homes that were burned by fire or destroyed by earthquakes.  Hudson Taylor Ministries also provides regular financial support to chronically ill or severely handicapped people who are cared for by their parents or families.  Medical treatment or medicine of any type needs to be paid in advance in China before services can be rendered.  As a Christian charity, we see it as a calling and accountability to also address these needs.
